Kenyan small businesses often sell through a lively mixture of referrals, calls, email, website forms and WhatsApp. The CRM’s first job is to bring those conversations into one view.
Choose from the work backwards
List what must happen: capture leads, assign an owner, schedule follow-up, store notes, move opportunities and show a simple pipeline. Buy for those jobs, not for a feature list long enough to frighten livestock.
Make mobile use easy. Keep required fields few. Connect website forms where possible. Agree when records are updated and use the CRM during the weekly meeting so clean data has an obvious purpose.
Build adoption into management
Managers should inspect next actions, stuck deals and response times—not punish people for an empty optional field. Good use grows when the system helps the rep sell and helps the manager coach.
Start small, learn what the team needs, then automate. A sensible setup can grow with the business without beginning life as an IT migration documentary.
