A sales system is simply the agreed route from new enquiry to paying customer. It says what happens next, who does it and where the information lives. Nothing mystical. No ceremonial funnel lighting.
Start with five stages
Keep it human: new lead, contacted, qualified, proposal and decision. Give every stage one clear exit rule. A lead only becomes qualified when the need, decision-maker, timing and sensible budget are understood.
Then give every live opportunity an owner, a dated next action and a place in the CRM. If the next step exists only in someone’s head, it has already started packing its bags.
Build the tools around the work
Use a landing page to capture the right details, automation to send useful follow-up and a dashboard to show what is stuck. Technology should remove chasing—not add another screen everybody politely ignores.
Begin with one offer and one team. Run the system for four weeks, fix the awkward bits, then expand it. A small system people use beats a magnificent process manual holding a door open.
