Lead tracking is not about collecting every known fact about a human. It is about making the next useful action visible.

Record the useful seven

Keep the name, contact, source, need, stage, owner and next-action date. Add expected value only when it is based on a real conversation—not because the salesperson enjoyed the prospect’s tone.

Every new lead should receive an owner immediately. Every conversation should end with a next step. Every Friday, review leads with no activity, overdue actions and deals stuck in one stage.

Use one home for the truth

A simple CRM is better than five clever files. Connect forms and landing pages so leads arrive automatically. Let reminders handle the nudging while the team handles the human conversation.

The goal is not surveillance. It is making sure the customer receives a proper response and the manager can coach from evidence instead of vibes.
